Before I announce the winners, I just want to thank everyone for doing this competition with me.  I had fun and it really helped me do better then I would have alone.  So even if you don't feel great about how you did just know that you really made a difference to me.  So Thank you thank you!  Maybe we will make this a yearly Steiner competition?

Final weigh in!

Okay everyone, this is your final weigh in. READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!!!


First,  on this weeks point chart it had exercise as double points.  It is NOT double points.  So if you added 10 or 14 points for exercise please please re add your points to 5 or 7 points!  Total possible points for the week are 226.

second,  This is what we are to record today.  1. weekly points...2. amount of weight loss... 3. total points ... and 4. total percentage of weight loss!

We are not doing the weight loss challenge per pound lost it is by percentage lost.  So here is the Math equation to figure out your percentage.
(Starting weight - current weight) / starting weight = percentage (move the decimal 2 spaces)
Here is an example:
Starting weight 200lbs  end weight 190lbs

200-190= 10/200 = 0.05 = 5%

Happy Sunday everyone. Here's a little motivation tip to help you stay on track! The biggest mistake people make is to look outside themselves for inspiration. Here's the key, if you have a why to live for you can tolerate any “how”. Identify all the reasons you want to be motivated in the first place and let that drive you towards success. I want you to write down all the things you want out of life. Do you wanna walk your daughter down the aisle, have financial independence, wear a bikini on your 20th wedding anniversary? Whatever your goals and dreams are, write them down and post them everywhere from the fridge to the car dash. Then, the next time you are contemplating a walk on the treadmill or spending hours pouring over your application for a small business loan, stop & think about WHY you are engaging in these behaviors. Surely, living a long happy healthy life with your loved ones is worth putting in the work even if it makes you slightly uncomfortable in the short term.

MISTAKE!

Hey everyone,

I realized that I added my points wrong.  I didn't eat sugar for 7 days but forgot we only count it for 6 days.  So my points are really total of 271 not 276.  It looks like my mom did the same thing.  If anyone else did this let me know and I will make record of your new points.
 Also, Thanks Ashley for being our guinea pig.  She forgot to record her points yesterday.  She will be reporting them by the end of today though.  So we have decided to give everyone ONE freebie... if you forget to report on Sunday by accident because it can happen then you can still report the next day.  BUT if you continue to forget then there will be consequences... *mad face* haha. We want the competition to be fair to everyone but we also dont want to eliminate people for accidental mistakes. So try not to forget.

My story -Emmalee

Here is a little bit of my story and a few funny and inspirational pictures. I wrote this for one of my other blogs, so it might sound like I'm addressing people who know nothing about our challenge.

Have you had days, months, or years like this?

I have struggled with my weight ever sense hitting puberty. I really never tried to do anything too serious about it until about a year after my first child was born. I lost 50 lbs that year and still had more to go, but got pregnant.
I made it through the pregnancy with out hitting my highest (non-pregnancy) weight. It was great, I was motivated. I went back to work at losing weight. It got frustrating. I was working just as hard as before and losing it half as fast.
 After 9 months of that and still being 10 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight, plus a few other life demands. I gave up.



I kept telling myself I was going to maintain, just not lose any more. now I think...

 That was nearly two years ago. I've now gained it all back. I'm ten pounds shy of my heaviest (non-pregnancy) weight. Back to ground zero. I've been trying to get motivated this past year, but it only last about 2-3 weeks and then the scale shows nothing for it.



At Easter time I decided I really needed to focus on another fitness goal and not on the scale because it was just depressing me, not motivating me. I decided I wanted to run.



I have always admired those who run. Never had the desire to do it myself, as a younger person, thought it would be sooo boring. Now it sounds nice and almost relaxing. more noise in my everyday life I guess. My only problem is that I have never been able to run. If I run more then a few seconds my lungs start to burn. Even the couch to 5K plans I see out there were/are to advanced for me.



 I came up with my own plan. It's more of a step by step plan not a day by day plan. Each time I pass a off a step, wither it takes one week or five or more, I will celebrate. I will feel good about myself! I will focus on what I have accomplished not on what I still need to to.
I will only be working on running once a week. The rest of the week I will be doing other things I enjoy for work outs as well. I think over all fitness will help me with the running too.
Last week My sister called with an idea of doing a weight loss challenge. we have done them with our family before, but this time we wanted to have our extended family en-valved. We are basing this off the plan we found on Six sisters stuff. We extended it to a ten week challenge, rather then their eight week one, because it will then end the weekend before our annual family reunion. 
My plan:

I will be exercising 5 days a week, eating whole foods (as close as possible), and counting calories. We started the challenge this past Monday. There is points for exercising, eating right, drinking enough water, etc. We also get points for losing weight. There will be two winners at the end. the one with the most overall points and the one who lost the most weight. I'm just hoping this will get me started on my weight loss journey!
